When I think of Barcelona, I do not visualize a place, but a person. The image that comes to my mind is that of a noble lady of the renaissance period, graceful and composed, patroness of arts and sciences, surrounded by charm and beauty.
I can see her alabaster skin on the foam of the sea, the harmony of her features in the beautiful Gothic quarter and the sinuosity of her body in the architectural style of Gaudi. I can hear her laugh all through the Ramblas, and the music of her voice at the Liceum.
I dream of sumptuous feasts with the incredible food and spices available at “La Boqueria” Market, I can visit the corridors of her palace adorned with the very best works of art… and when such a charming lady comes to greet you with a warm welcoming smile, who could resist her invitation?.
