Once the passenger welcome takes place at the luxury hotel Hotel Alfonso XIII at midday (10:30) in Seville, you will get aquainted with this gracious city, capital of Andalucia; enjoy its historic city centre, its wide array of monumental and religious buildings, elegant parks and gardens,.. Whilst leisurely strolling along its meandering streets you will come upon the aweinspiring Cathedral, the majestic Giralda, the misterious Real Alcazar, the espectacular Archivo de Indias…and let us not forget the world famous hospitality for which the “sevillanos” are well known!
After savouring an exquisite lunch at the Hotel you will enjoy a panoramic tour of the city that will end at the charming Plaza de España .
Upon your return to the Al Andalus train the crew will be presented, a welcome aperitif will be shared with your fellow passengers and in the evening you will relish a delicious dinner in the elegant resturant while the journey continues to Jerez de la Frontera where overnight will take place.
On this second day, after enjoying an exquisite breakfast on board you will visit one of the most traditional wineries in Jérez where you will savour some of their prize winning wines and take pleasure in a unique exhibition of horsemanship: the performance “How the Andalusian Horses Dance” will no doubt astonish and delight you with the horses graceful movements and antics . Lunch will be enjoyed in Sanlucar de Barrameda, where you will have time to discover the wonders of this historical city located at the estuary of the Guadalquivir river before returning to Jérez de la Frontera in your luxury coach for dinner and overnight.
The day begins with a tour of the beautiful coastal town of Cádiz, popularly known as the “Tacita de Plata” ( Silver Cup of Tea) where you will arrive by coach. Once you have discovered the wonders of Cadiz, which is considered the most ancient city known in the western world, you will once again board the train and continue your journey, whilst savouring a delicious lunch and enjoying the unique scenery and stunning landscape that leads you to the the picturesque town of Ronda, set high on a plateau that overlooks a steep gorge along which the bubbling Guadalvin river runs. Enjoy dinner and rest aboard the train as overnight takes place in Ronda.
After a well earned night’s rest you will enjoy free time in which to explore the notable landmarks of this unique town: the imposing “Puente Nuevo” that bridges the two sides of the steep gorge; its centuries old bullring (one of the oldest in the world and where Orson Wells´ ashes rest according to his last wishes), the imposing Arab Walls that guard the entrance to the city…Afterwards the journey continues, westernbound, towards the soul of Al Andalus: Granada, that lies nestled amongst a majestic mountain range and boasts of more than a thousand years of history…
Once in Granada take a journey back in time whilst visiting its most renowned monument, the enchanting “Alhambra”. Fall under the spell of the bewitching Nazarie Palaces, discover the charming paths and lanes that lead to elegant marble fountains and royal chambers with the delicate interlacing designs on their walls,…
As evening turns into night, Granada dresses up in Magic. Revel in the otherwordly ambiance in this unique city, as you enjoy your bewitching dinner and overnight in Granada.
Whilst you relish lunch on board the train continues its journey through Andalusian terrain dominated by olive groves towards Linares-Baeza train station where you will board a luxury coach that will take you to Ubeda-Baeza two cities considered Heritage of Humanity by the UNESCO .
In the afternoon you will board the train and continue your journey to Cordoba where dinner and overnight will take place. Enjoy your last night on the Al Andalus Train with a farewell party that celebrates the journeys near-conclusion.
Day 7
After enjoying breakfast on board you will discover the magnificent city of Cordoba, that holds the invaluable legacy of the different cultures that have inhabited this beautiful land, and that includes its wondrous Mosque and Jewish Quarter.
Whilst enjoying lunch on board the train will travel towards a perfect end to a marvelous experience that allows you to bid farewell to the Al Andalus experience by the Guadalquivir River in Seville.
